Konstantin Kryzhitsky

Painter, draughtsman. Born in the family of Yakov Kryzhitsky in Kiev (1858). Studied at the Nikolai Murashko School of Drawing in Kiev and under Baron Mikhail Clodt von Jürgensburg at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1877–85). Awarded minor and major silver medals (1879), minor silver medal (1881), minor gold medal (1883) and the title of first-class artist (1884). Academician (1889), full member of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1900). Member of the Society of Russian Watercolourists (from 1892) and the Mussar Mondays (from 1881, chairman 1909–10), founding member of the Arkhip Kuinji Society (1909, chairman 1911). Died in St Petersburg (1911). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1879). Contributed to the exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1889–1902, with intervals), Moscow Society of Lovers of the Arts (1887), Society of Travelling Art Exhibitions (1891, 1892, 1901) and the Society of Russian Watercolourists (1891–1912).
