Jeweller, silversmith, niello master. Hallmark: ??. Born in the family of a jeweller called Ivan Torlov (1740). Lived and worked in Veliky Ustyug, where he created Rococo snuffboxes, caskets and teapots (from 1760). Elected assistant foreman of a workshop (1791). Died in Veliky Ustyug (1806).
