Vasily Navozov
Painter, graphic artist, illustrator. Born in the family of Ivan Navozov in Moscow (1862). Studied at the Stroganov School of Technical Drawing (1874–80), under Illarion Pryanishnikov, Pyotr Sorokin, Yevgraf Sorokin and Vasily Perov at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1880–82) and at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1882–89). Illustrated newspapers and journals. Accompanied Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich on a journey across northern Russia (1884). Died in an unknown location (1919). Contributed to the exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of Arts (from 1888), Society of Russian Watercolourists and the St Petersburg Society of Artists.
