Jean-Victor Vincent Adam
French painter, draughtsman, engraver. Son of the engraver Jean Adam. Studied at the École des beaux-arts and in the studios of Charles Meynier and Jean-Baptiste Regnault (1814–18). Worked at the Palace of Versailles (from 1819). Took up lithography (1824). Awarded a gold medal (1824) and a second-class medal (1836). Contributed to the Views of St Petersburg album published by Giuseppe Daziaro (1840s–50s). Contributed to the Paris Salon (1819–38).
