Painter, graphic artist, theatrical designer, sculptor, teacher. Born in the family of Alexander Vasilyev in Moscow (1895). Studied at the Stroganov School of Art and Industry (1910–18) and VKhUTEMAS (1918–23). Member of the Society of Easel Artists (1924–27) and the Union of Artists (1932). Taught at the Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Art (1945–52) and the Vasily Surikov Institute of Art in Moscow (1952–67). Died in Moscow (1967). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1919).
