Alexander Kosolapov

Painter, graphic artist, sculptor. Born in the family of Semyon Kosolapov in Moscow (1943). Studied alongside Leonid Sokov and Igor Makarevich at the Moscow Secondary School of Art (1950–61). Graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture of Moscow School of Art and Industry (1968). Made a series of wooden sculptures depicting magnified objects of everyday Soviet life (1972). Created a series of images of ideologised objects (1974). Lives and works in New York (since 1975). Contributed to numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad.
