Vladimir Shinkarev

Painter, graphic artist, writer. Born in the family of Nikolai Shinkarev in Leningrad (1954). Worked as a professional geologist and took up painting (1972). Studied at the Vera Mukhina School of Art and Industry (1973–74) and the evening classes at the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1976). Member of the International Federation of Artists (1991), A-Ya (1993) and the Union of Artists (1994). Founding member of the Mitki group (1985). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1975).
