Painter, photographer, writer. Born in Leningrad (1959). Graduated from the Frederick Engels Institute of Soviet Trade in Leningrad (1988). Met Yevgeny Yufit and joined the Necrorealism group, contributing to films and performances (1984). Took up painting, photography and writing (1987). Began work on the theory of necromethod, analysing the process of dying and its reflection in painting (1989). Developed necroimages in installations, painting, graphic art and photography (1993). Represented Russia at the 1st Tirana Biennale in Albania (2001). Contributed to exhibitions, including the Coma one-man show at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2000).
