Musician, painter, graphic artist, photographer. Born in the family of geologist Konstantin Guryanov in Leningrad (1961). Studied at the Vladimir Serov School of Art in Leningrad (1975–76). Member of the New Artists (from 1982) and the rock group Kino (1984–90). Contributed to the concerts of Sergei Kuryokhin’s Popular Mechanics. Recorded an album with the New Composers. Founding member of the Club of Friends of Vladimir Mayakovsky (1986). Subject of a portrait by Timur Novikov (1987). Presenter on pirate television and active in the club scene in Leningrad (late 1980s and early 1990s). Worked in a Neo-Academist style (from 1989). Founding member of the New Academy of Fine Arts. Died in St Petersburg and buried at the Smolensk Cemetery (2013). One-man shows at the Marble Palace (1993), Gallery D-137 in St Petersburg (2001), Regina Gallery in Moscow (1994) and the Cabinet magazine exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam (1997).
