Painter, graphic artist, theatrical designer. Studied at the Nizhny Novgorod Free Art Studios (1921–23), Leningrad Technical College of Art and Industry (1923–27), under Kazimir Malevich at the Institute of Artistic Culture (1924) and at the Institute of Proletarian Fine Art and the Academy of Arts (1930s). Member of the Masters of Analytical Art (1925–32). Helped to design the sets and costumes for Igor Terentiev’s production of Nikolai Gogol’s satire The Government Inspector at the House of Printing (1927). Killed on the Finnish front during the Second World War (1941). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1927).
