Painter, graphic artist, mixed media artist, trainee pharmacist. Originally painted in an abstract style, before switching to working in enamel on photographs. Member of the Neo-Academist movement. Created the New Bestiary series (1992–93). Lives and works in Moscow and St Petersburg. Contributed to such one-man shows as Defence at the Navicula Artis Gallery in St Petersburg (1993), Eastern Motifs at the Yakut Gallery in Moscow (1994), Secret Desires at the George Soros Centre of Contemporary Art in St Petersburg (1995), Andrei Popov at the New Academy of Fine Arts and Tanatology and Stomatology at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (1997).
