Graphic artist, illustrator. Born in the family of a Jewish craftsman called Boris Yudovin in the small town of Beshenkovichi in Vitebsk Province (1892). Studied under Yehuda Pen in Vitebsk (1906–10), at the School of Drawing of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts in St Petersburg (1911–14), under Mikhail Bernstein and Mstislav Dobuzhinsky (after 1919) and at the Vitebsk School of Art (1918–22). Worked under El Lissitzky at the Vitebsk School of Art (1919 to 1922 ), where he headed the studio of graphic art (1922). Lived and worked in Leningrad (from 1924). Died in Leningrad (1954). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1916).
