Painter, graphic artist, book artist. Born in the family of Semyon Chernetsov in the village of Dorobino in Tula Province (1907). Studied at the Vasily Surikov Library in Moscow, studio of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (1926–27) and under Sergei Gerasimov, Konstantin Istomin, Alexander Labas and Vladimir Favorsky at the VKhUTEIN (1927–31). Contributed to the Studio of Monumental Painting at the Academy of Architecture of the USSR (1938–39, 1947–48). Worked for the Round the World magazine (1948–68). Died in Moscow (1969). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1931).
