Tsarevich Alexis Alexeyevich was the fourth child and second son of Alexis Mikhailovich and Maria Miloslavskaya. He was born in Moscow on 5 February 1654 and baptised in the Dormition Cathedral on 19 February 1654. Declared the heir to the throne on 7 September 1667. Died in Moscow on 17 January 1670 and buried in the Archangel Cathedral.
