Tsarevna Irina Mikhailovna was the first child and first daughter of Michael Romanov and Eudoxia Streshneva. She was born in Moscow on 22 April 1627 and baptised by Patriarch Philaret in the Monastery of the Miracle. She lived in Moscow and the village of Rubtsov (Pokrovskoe), which she inherited from her paternal grandmother. She enjoyed landscape gardening and never married. She acted as godmother to her nephew Peter the Great on 29 June 1672. Died in Moscow on 8 February 1679 and buried at the Novospassky Monastery in Moscow.
