Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich was a rear admiral. He was born in Tiflis in Georgia (1866). Married Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna, eldest daughter of Tsar Alexander III, at Peterhof Palace (1894). Helped to found the Russian air force, giving Russia 230 fighter planes at the outbreak of the First World War. Emigrated to France after the revolution and read lectures on spiritualism. Died in Roquebrune in France and buried in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (1933).
