Painter, draughtsman, engraver, teacher. Born in St Petersburg to a professional artist called Ivan Morozov (1835). Studied under his father at home and under Alexei Markov at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1852–63). Awarded a minor gold medal (1861). One of the rebellious fourteen students who refused to paint the set topic in the competition for a major gold medal and resigned from the Imperial Academy of Arts (1863). Founding member of the St Petersburg Artel of Artists (1863), full member of the Society of Russian Watercolourists (1887). Academician (1864). Taught drawing at the St Petersburg School of Jurisprudence (1874–1904). Contributed to the exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of Arts, Society of Travelling Art Exhibitions, Society of Russian Watercolourists, Pan-Russian Exhibition of Art and Industry in Moscow (1882) and the international exhibitions in Vienna (1873), Paris (1878) and Berlin (1886).
