Alexander Myasoyedov

Died: after 1851

Painter, army captain. Son-in-law of General Soldein. Born in St Petersburg in the family of Pyotr Myasoyedov (1806?). Accompanied the future Tsar Alexander II on his travels across Europe, including Italy. Painted portraits and history pictures. Very little authentic information is known about the artist and only three of his works are known (all three are in the Russian Museum in St Petersburg). Did not study at the Imperial Academy of Arts, but contributed to exhibitions at the Imperial Academy of Arts. Died (after 1851).
