Nikolai Lieberich

German sculptor. Born in St Petersburg (1828) in the family of Johann Kaspar Lieberich (1771–1834) und Luise Rheinbott (1788–1871). Served in the Dragoon Life Guards and the Leuchtenberg Hussar Regiment. Retired from military service with the rank of colonel. Studied under Baron Pyotr Carlovich Clodt von Jürgensburg at the Imperial Academy of Arts. Awarded a minor silver medal (1857). Academician (1861). Died in St Petersburg (1883). Contributed to exhibitions at the Imperial Academy of Arts (from 1857) and the World Exhibitions in London (1862, 1872) and Paris (1867).
