German jeweller, goldsmith. Born in the Grand Duchy of Hesse (1812). Qualified as a goldsmith (1845) and opened a workshop on Gorokhovaya Street in St Petersburg (1849). Collaborated with Nicholls & Plincke on imperial commissions (1850s–60s). Lived in Apartment 4 at 4/80 Gorokhovaya Street (1867–74). Died in St Petersburg and buried at the Volkovo Lutheran Cemetery (1890).
