Youla Chapoval
Artist. Born in Kiev (1919). Lived in Paris (from 1924). Studied medicine and attended the Académie de la Grande-Chaumière (1939). Took up professional painting (1941). Studied at the École superieure des beaux-arts de Toulouse. Returned to Paris (1945). Took up abstract art and won the Wassily Kandinsky Prize (1949). Died in Paris (1951). Contributed to exhibitions at the Galerie Jeanne Bucher (1947) and Galerie Denise René (1950).
