Michael Poladjan

Born: 1938, Moscow

Armenian painter, graphic artist. Born as Mikhail Poladian in the family of Hrant Poladian in Moscow (1938). Graduated from the Faculty of Applied Art of Moscow Textile Institute (1965) and the special courses of theatrical, cinema and television set design at the Central Television Studios in Moscow (1968). Emigrated to West Germany (1977). Member of the Bundesverband Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler (1983). Worked in Munich as a free artist and professor of painting at the Schwanthaler Kunstschule (from 1984). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1959), including Abstraction in Russia: XX Century at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2001–02).
