Anna Shitikova

Painter, graphic artist, illustrator. Born in the family of Ivan Shitikov in the village of Bachaty in Perm Province (3 December 1919). Graduated from the 1905 School of Art in Moscow (1938). Studied at the All-Union Institute of Cinematography (1939–42). Arrested and accused of being a German spy (1942). Served her sentence in Karlag. Released (1950). Lived in Kazakhstan (until late 1950s). Helped to decorate the Karaganda Railway Station. Illustrated the Kazakh fairytale Yer-Tostik (1958). Subsequent fate unknown.
