Born: 1969, Sancti Spíritus (Cuba)

Cuban artist. Born in Sancti Spíritus (1969). Graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA) in Havana (1988). Collaborated with Juan Pablo Ballester Carmanates (1988–91). Founded the ABTV group of artists with Tanya Ángulo Alemán and José Ángel Toirac Batista. Studied at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana (from 1989; left without graduating). Decorated by the Cuban branch of the International Association of Art Critics for curating the Nosotros. Exposición antológica de la obra de Raúl Martínez exhibition (1990). Contributed to Kuba o.k. Aktuelle Kunst aus Kuba. Arte actual de Cuba at the Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales in Havana and the Kunsthalle in Düsseldorf (1990), Kubanische Kunst aus der Sammlung Ludwig at the Kunsthalle Brandts Klaedefabrik in Odense, Denmark (1992), Von dort aus: Kuba at the Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst in Aachen (1992), Cuba. La isla posible at the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea in Barcelona (1995) and Cuba siglo XX: modernidad y sincretismo at the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Fundación La Caixa in Palma, Majorca and the Centro de Arte Santa Mónica in Barcelona (1996).
