Lithographer, draughtsman, sculptor, illustrator. Born in the family of Yevgeny Popov in Saratov (1938). Studied under Andrei Goncharov and Volya Lyakhov at Moscow Institute of Polygraphy (1957–61). Worked in the cartoon industry and sculpted toys. Illustrated and designed books for various publishing houses (from 1962). Winner of awards at international book biennales. Honoured Artist of Russia (1998). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1962).
