Fyodor Antonov

Painter, fabric designer, graphic artist, teacher. Born in the family of Vasily Antonov in Tambov (1904). Studied at the Tambov Studio of Art (1916–21) and the VKhUTEMAS/VKhUTEIN (1922–29). Member of the Society of Easel Artists (1923–32) and the Union of Artists (1932). Taught at the Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Art (1948–51) and the Moscow Textile Institute (from 1953). Professor (1957). People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1973). Died in Moscow (1994). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1928), including the Soviet Industrial Art Exhibition in Leningrad (1931).
