Graphic artist, caricaturist, illustrator, theatrical designer, cinema designer. Born in the family of Stepan Yeliseyev in St Petersburg (1890). Studied under Ivan Bilibin and Ivan Tvorozhnikov at the School of Drawing of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (1910–14), under Vasily Belyaev at the Academy of Arts (1918), at the First Printing House in Moscow (1922) and under Ivan Pavlov at the VKhUTEMAS (1922–23). Drew caricatures for various newspapers and magazines (from 1910). Illustrated satirical fairytales and books for publishing houses. Designed sets and costumes for the First Belorussian Theatre of Drama in Minsk (early 1920s) and costumes for Mosfilm Studios in Moscow. Died in Moscow and buried at Khimki Cemetery (1968). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1930).
