Prince Yury (Georgy) was the second child and second son of Basil III and Elena Glinska. He was born on 30 October 1532. He was a feeble degenerate. He married Princess Ulyana of Palekh (1558) and had a son called Vasily (1559), who died eleven months later (1560). Prince Yury died on 24 November 1563 and was buried in the Archangel Cathedral in Moscow.
