Russia Peterhof Villa Mikhailovka

Mikhailovka

Mikhailovka was the suburban residence of Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich, the youngest son of Nicholas I, and his wife Grand Duchess Olga Fyodorovna. Between 1858 and 1861, Harald Julius von Bosse built them a revolutionary, freely planned palace, consisting of different cubic volumes. The architecture was an early forerunner of the Art Nouveau style, which flourished at the turn of the century.
