Palace of Dowager Tsarina Praskovia Saltykova
Built by Mikhail Zemtsov and designed by Georg Johann Mattarnovi (1720–27). After the owner’s death (1723), acquired by the crown and awarded to the Imperial Academy of Sciences. Altered to suit the needs of the new owners. Replaced by the southern storehouse of the Stock Exchange (now the Zoological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences) designed by Adrian Zakharov and Giovanni Lucchini (1826–32).
