Grandson of Count Alexander Sergeyevich Stroganov, brother of Princess Elizaveta Saltykova. Born in Moscow in the family of Count Pavel Stroganov and Princess Sofia Golitsyna (1794). Accompanied his father into the field army (1813). Fought at the Battle of Leipzig (1813). Decapitated at the Battle of Craonne (1814).
