Painter, teacher. Studied at the Königliche Akademie der Künste in Munich (1860s) and the Imperial Academy of Arts (1868–70). Awarded a minor medal (1872) and the title of third-class artist (1874). Founding member of the Kharkiv Society of Lovers of the Fine Arts (1889). Taught at his own studios in Kharkiv (from 1875) and St Petersburg (from 1911). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1872). Contributed to the exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1872, 1888) and a one-man show in Kharkiv (1903).
