Pyotr Yefimovich Zabolotsky
Painter, draughtsman, teacher. Father of Pyotr Petrovich Zabolotsky. Studied under Alexander Warnek and Alexei Yegorov at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1826–31). Awarded a minor silver medal (1829), major silver medal (1830) and the title of non-class artist (1831). Gave private drawing and painting lessons to Mikhail Lermontov (1836–37) and taught at the School of Drawing of the Society for the Encouragement of Artists (1842–48), Religious Seminary (1844–55), Military School of Topography (1850s) and the Technological Institute in St Petersburg (1859–60). Academician (1857).
