Ekaterina Khilkova

Ekaterina Khilkova (1827–after 1875): Russian painter, draughtswoman, teacher. Studied at the St Petersburg School of Drawing for Extern Students and taught at the School of Drawing of the Society for the Encouragement of Artists.

Painter, draughtswoman, teacher. Born in the family of Nikolai Khilkov in Tambov (1827). Studied at the St Petersburg School of Drawing for Extern Students (1852–56). Awarded minor silver medals (1855, 1864), the title of non-class artist (1864) and the title of class artist by the Imperial Academy of Arts (1876). Taught at the School of Drawing of the Society for the Encouragement of Artists in St Petersburg (1859–64). Died in an unknown location (after 1875). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1858). Contributed to the exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1858, 1869, 1870, 1874, 1876) and St Petersburg: A Portrait of the City and its Citizens at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2003).
