Jean-Baptiste Arnout

French painter, draughtsman, engraver. Father of French lithographer Louis-Jules Arnout (1814–1868). Studied in Dijon and Paris. One of the first French professional lithographers. Worked in Joseph Lemercier’s studio in Paris and on Russian commissions for Italian publisher Giuseppe Daziaro. Contributed landscapes and architectural views of towns in France, Italy and Belgium to the Paris Salon (1819–65).
