Sculptor. Born in the family of a priest called Vasily Loganovsky in Moscow (1810 or 1812). Studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1821–33). Awarded a major gold medal (1836). Fellow of the Imperial Academy of Arts in Italy (1837–44). Elected to the Imperial Academy of Arts for works created in Rome. Sculpted statue of Boy Playing at Svaika (1836) in front of the Alexander Palace in Tsarskoe Selo (1838), marble reliefs for the facade of the Church of St Panteleimonos in St Petersburg (1840s) and high reliefs for the facade of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow (1847–49). Professor of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1854). Died in Moscow and buried at the Vagankovo Cemetery (1855). Contributed to exhibitions, including Play and Passion in Russian Fine Art at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (1999–2000).
