Georgy Yakulov

Died: 1928, Yerevan (Armenia)

Armenian painter, decorator, theatrical designer. Born in the family of a lawyer called Bogdan Yakulian in Tiflis (1884). Studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1900–02). Contributed to the We and the West manifesto (1914). Designed for the Chamber Theatre in Moscow and the First State Theatre in Yerevan (from 1918). Member of the jury of the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris (1925). Died in Yerevan in Armenia and buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow (1928).
