Sculptor, graphic artist, painter, applied artist, teacher. Born in Leningrad (1939). Studied at the Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1954–57), Moscow Secondary School of Art (1957–58) and the Faculty of Sculpture of the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (1960–64). Taught at a children’s studio of art in Leningrad (1965–67). Studied the history and theory of art at the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1967–69). Worked as a restorer at the Hermitage Museum (1968–69) and a designer at Lenfilm Studios (1969–70). Emigrated to France (1972). Lives and works in New York (from 1974). Contributed to exhibitions, including Times of Change: Art in the Soviet Union (1960–85) at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2006).
