Painter, graphic artist, teacher. Born in the family of Ivan Rakhin in Leningrad (1932). Studied at the Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1948–53) and under Boris Johanson at the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (1953–59). Taught at the Vera Mukhina School of Art and Industry in Leningrad (1961–68). Died in St Petersburg (2013). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1972), including the Exhibition of Eleven Artists at the Okhta Exhibition Hall in Leningrad (1972), St Petersburg: A Portrait of the City and its Citizens at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2003), Times of Change: Art in the Soviet Union (1960–85) at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2006) and The Four Seasons: Landscapes in Russia (19th–20th Centuries) at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2006–07).
