Photographer. Born in the family of Alexander Savelev in the town of Chernivtsi in the south-west Ukraine (1948). Graduated from the Institute of Aviation, worked as an engineer. Took up photography (1962). Exhibited at the Innovator Club of Photography in Moscow (1970). Collaborated professionally with various publishing houses (1983). Published In the Museums of the Ukraine book of photography in Kiev (1984). Influenced by Eugene Atget and Walker Evans. Contributed to many one-man shows in museums and published widely in the West (from mid-1980s).
