Painter, graphic artist. Born in the family of a worker called Yefim Popkov in the town of Mytischi near Moscow (1932). Studied at Moscow Pedagogical Institute of Art (1948–52) and the Vasily Surikov Institute of Art in Moscow (1952–58). Member of the Union of Artists (1959). Painted works on the Irkutsk and Bratsk Hydroelectric Stations, Abakan-Tashkent Railway and the virgin lands in Kazakhstan. Died in a shooting incident in Moscow and buried at the Cherkizovo Cemetery at 6 Kedrin Street (1974). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1958).
