Anna Andreyeva-Petoshina

Anna Andreyeva-Petoshina (1898–1944): Russian sculptress. Studied at the VKhUTEMAS/VKhUTEIN in Petrograd/Leningrad  and worked for Lenproletkult and Oblprofsoviet. Died in the Siege of Leningrad.

Sculptress. Born in the family of Vasily Andreyev in St Petersburg Province (1898). Studied under Leonid Sherwood, Matvei Manizer and Alexander Matveyev at the VKhUTEMAS/VKhUTEIN in Petrograd/Leningrad (1921–27). Worked for Lenproletkult and Oblprofsoviet (late 1920s–1930s). Died in the Siege of Leningrad (1944). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1930), including Fifteen Years of the Red Army at Gorky Park in Moscow (1933) and Roads in Russian Art at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2004–05).
