Graphic artist, teacher. Born in the family of Nikolai Gerardov in Odessa (1873). Studied at the Odessa School of Drawing (1888–93) and under Johann Wilhelm Mathe at the Imperial Academy of Arts. Awarded the title of engraver for etching (1900). Member of the New Society of Artists, Artel of Russian Artists (1901–03) and the Society of Mutual Assistance of Russian Artists. Collaborated with various magazines in St Petersburg (1905–08). Illustrated Nikolai Gogol’s Sorochinsk Fair (1909), Midsummer Night (1912), May Night or the Drowned Woman (1914). Taught engraving and headed the ceramics studio at the School of Drawing of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (1908–10) and taught at the School of Mechanics and Construction (after 1917). Committed suicide in Petrograd (1919).
