Georgy (Yegor) Samoshin

Georgy (Yegor) Samoshin (late 19th–early 20th centuries), Russian jeweller, goldsmith, silversmith. Hallmark: ЕС or Самошинъ. Lived and worked in Moscow, where he made jewellery in the Neo-Russian and Art Nouveau styles and was elected chairman of the Moscow Society of Goldsmiths, Silversmiths and Jewellers.

Jeweller, goldsmith, silversmith. Hallmark: ?? or ???????? in a rectangle. Born in the family of Taras Samoshin (second half of 19th century). Owned a workshop in Moscow, where he made enamelled objects in the Neo-Russian style (1899–1908) and jewellery in the Art Nouveau style (1908–17). Elected chairman of the Moscow Society of Goldsmiths, Silversmiths and Jewellers and deputy to the Board of Craftsmen to defend the interests of jewellers and campaign for a lowering of the assay fees, although he himself was accused of breaking the assay laws and forging hallmarks (1908–11). Died in an unknown location (after 1917?).
