Painter, graphic artist. Born in the family of Erast (Ernest) Zaitsev in the village of Golitsyno in Saratov Province (1874). Studied under Valentin Serov at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1895–1907). Painted Impressionist images of twilight interiors (second half of 1900s). Died in an unknown location (no earlier than 1911). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1896). Contributed to the exhibitions of the Moscow Society of Lovers of the Arts (1904–08), Fellowship of Artists (1911) and Impressionism in Russia at the Russian Museum in St Petersburg (2000).
