Dipper

The dipper is a small drinking vessel in the form of a scoop on a high stand and base. Like such other Russian national drinking vessels as the scoop (kovsh), the dipper was used at official banquets and feasts. In the seventeenth century, dippers were manufactured by the leading Kremlin jewellers, who were invited to Muscovy from all over Russia.
