Police (Green) Bridge
Wooden bascule bridge (1720) was rebuilt and called the Green Bridge after the colour of the paint (1735). Renamed Police Bridge (1777) after the Police Headquarters situated on the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and the River Moika. Rebuilt by William Heste (1806–08). Original granite obelisks replaced by metal pillars with gaslights (1842).
