Cabinet Wing of the Anichkov Palace
Giacomo Quarenghi built a new wing for His Imperial Majesty’s Cabinet on the site of the wooden colonnade in front of the Anichkov Palace (1803–06). His Imperial Majesty’s Cabinet was founded to oversee the property and financial affairs of the imperial court (1801). Luigi Rusca added two wings for auxiliary premises (1809–11). The original arcades were laid on top of the facades (1885).
