Theodosios Janenko
Painter. Father of Jacob Janenko. Signed his early works in Greek and possibly came to St Petersburg with Eugenios Voulgaris from Greece or Bulgaria (1771). Studied under Gavriil Kozlov at the Imperial Academy of Arts. Painted portraits of the future Paul I (1794) and Grand Duchess Anna Fyodorovna (1797–98). Academician (1797). Painted icons for the Kazan Cathedral in St Petersburg (1800s).
