Painter, draughtsman, teacher. Born in Ekaterinodar to Cossack general Sysoi Kosolap (1834). Studied at the Pavel Military Academy and fought in the Crimean War (1853–56). Awarded a stipend by the Kuban Cossack Host to study at the Imperial Academy of Arts (1861–67), where he was awarded two minor silver medals (1863), a major silver medal (1864) and a minor gold medal (1867). Returned to Ekaterinodar (1871), where he taught drawing at the Mariinsky Women’s Institute (1874–1904). Died in Ekaterinodar and buried at All Saints Cemetery (1910). Contributed to the exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of Arts (from 1863).
